We help you move past the cycle of reset and repeat
You should be able to use a room without wondering when the power will go off again. Tell us whether the trip follows a particular appliance, starts when equipment turns on or appeared after recent work. We use that history to guide the visit.
An AFCI may be responding to a condition that needs repair in the circuit or connected equipment. We also assess the device itself. Calling the interruption a nuisance does not tell us what caused it, so our crew investigates before recommending a replacement.
Understand the protection without studying a manual
QA120AFC is a Type QAF2 combination AFCI example. It adds arc-fault detection to overcurrent protection. That is different from a standard QP breaker and from GFCI-only QPF2 protection. We explain which functions belong on your circuit and why they matter.
The indicators and diagnostic information also depend on the exact breaker and its instructions. We use the correct device documentation rather than a generic online light-code chart. You can leave that interpretation to us and simply share what you noticed during normal use.
Fix the cause while keeping the safety feature
If the breaker has failed, we select a supported replacement for the installed panel and circuit. If we find a wiring, connection or connected-equipment issue, that finding shapes the repair. A different breaker will not necessarily fix a problem elsewhere.
Removing AFCI protection just to avoid trips can remove a required safety function. Raising the breaker rating is not a workaround either. Live Wire can explain a properly designed circuit change if your room now needs to serve more equipment than the existing arrangement supports.
Get a repair plan that fits your household
We explain the findings and price before you approve work. You will know whether we recommend a breaker, circuit repair or further diagnosis. If a broader panel or wiring issue is present, we explain its connection to the symptoms rather than assuming a large project from one tripping device.
We also discuss access and the interruption needed for the work. Share any important home-office hours or equipment that needs special planning. A clear service conversation makes it easier to get the electrical problem handled in an occupied home.
Tell Live Wire what is happening in the room
Note the affected lights and outlets, any recent changes and the first time you noticed the issue. Existing paperwork or a photo of markings already visible during normal use can help. There is no need to open the panel or deliberately reproduce a fault.

Request ServiceCommon questions
Does a tripping QAF2 mean the breaker is defective?
No. It can be responding to a wiring or connected-equipment condition. We assess the complete circuit before recommending replacement.
Is QA120AFC a GFCI breaker?
It is a combination AFCI example. AFCI and GFCI are different protective functions, and we check what the specific circuit requires.
Can I replace it with a standard QP?
That is not a general solution. We retain required protection and match the device to the panel while addressing the reason for the trip.
What should I have ready when I call?
The room affected, symptoms and recent appliance or wiring changes are a helpful start. You do not need a model number or your own diagnosis to request service.
