The right work. A clear plan.

Light Fixture Installation: what to expect.

Replacing an existing fixture and creating a new lighting location involve different work. The condition of the box and wiring, the fixture’s weight and the type of ceiling or wall all shape the installation. We help define that scope before the appointment.

A useful lighting plan balances task light, general illumination and glare. Kitchens, work areas and living spaces do not need the same fixture layout. Tell us what feels too dim or inconvenient, and whether you want dimming or multiple lighting zones.

Make the next step a good one.

A scope built around your home.

Review the location

Assess existing connections, mounting support and the proposed fixture. For new locations, plan the route and any finish openings.

Coordinate controls

Match lamps or LED drivers to switches and dimmers. Group fixtures so the controls make sense for the room’s daily use.

Install the approved scope

Connect suitable fixtures and check operation. Clarify fixture supply, lamps, decorative assembly, patching and painting before work begins.

Before the appointment

Share model numbers, the number of fixtures and whether their locations are changing. A lighting refresh during an open-wall remodel may offer easier wiring routes than the same work after surfaces are finished. Keep the installation plan coordinated with cabinets and furniture placement.

Clear expectations. Better decisions.

What affects the price?

The quantity and type of fixtures, new versus existing connections, access, ceiling height and control changes affect price. A written estimate should distinguish electrical installation from fixture purchase and finish restoration.

Your written estimate should identify the equipment, electrical work, access, permits and any separate trades or finish restoration. Ask about anything you do not see included.

Local planning—not a one-size-fits-all job.

For a Seattle kitchen remodel or a Lynnwood family-room update, fixture placement should follow the actual room rather than a generic spacing formula. We plan around ceiling access, existing circuits and the local permit requirements for the electrical scope.

Most electrical work requires a permit and inspection through the authority responsible for the address. We obtain the electrical permit for work we perform when required. Utility-service approval is a separate step when applicable. Washington electrical permit guidance ↗

Can you replace several fixtures in one visit?

Share the fixture list and locations when scheduling. We assess the scope and access so the visit can be planned appropriately rather than promising a fixed completion time before seeing the work.

Can you add lights where no wiring exists?

Yes, subject to an installation assessment. New wiring routes, switching, circuit capacity and any openings in finished surfaces are included in the planning discussion.

Should I buy fixtures before contacting you?

It helps to select candidate models, but confirm mounting, electrical and access requirements before a major purchase. Bring the specifications to the estimate discussion.

Financing depends on lender approval. Wisetack publishes amounts of $500–$65,000, APRs of 0%–35.9%, and terms of 3–120 months for home services. Your amount, APR and term depend on the transaction, creditworthiness, merchant and lending partner; state rate limits may apply. Some merchants and lenders do not offer 0% APR or extended terms. Wisetack reports no origination charges, late fees or early-payoff penalties. Review the lender’s actual payment schedule and agreement before accepting financing. This worksheet adds no financing fees and makes no approval decision. Wisetack’s current FAQs (opens in a new tab)

Calculation and rounding details

Monthly payments are rounded to cents. The total uses the unrounded payment formula; the final payment is adjusted so the displayed payments add up. Actual lender calculations and payment dates may differ.

This models equal monthly periods at a fixed APR without added financing fees. Compare the lender’s actual schedule before making a decision. Your entries stay in this calculator; it does not save them or send them with a service request.
