The right work. A clear plan.

Chandelier Installation: what to expect.

Fixture weight, ceiling height and assembly requirements can change a chandelier project substantially. An existing light connection does not establish that its support is suitable for a heavier fixture. We review the mounting needs and safe access before choosing the installation approach.

Good placement depends on the room, not just the electrical box. A dining table, stairwell or open entry can call for different hanging positions and light distribution. Share the fixture dimensions and the room layout so the plan reflects how you use the space.

Make the next step a good one.

A scope built around your home.

Plan support and access

Review fixture weight, mounting instructions, ceiling structure and any high-access equipment. Identify whether the existing box can be retained.

Coordinate the finish

Confirm hanging location, cable or chain arrangement, assembly and protection of surrounding surfaces. Relocation or ceiling repair is a separate planning item.

Match lighting controls

Check lamp or integrated-LED compatibility with the intended dimmer. We explain what is included in the connection and operational check.

Before the appointment

Have the fixture specification sheet and all supplied components available. Tell us about high ceilings, stairs, delicate flooring or restricted access before scheduling. Do not assume that delivery, extensive fixture assembly, structural work or decorative repair is included unless it appears in the estimate.

Clear expectations. Better decisions.

What affects the price?

Fixture weight and assembly, mounting changes, ceiling height, lift or scaffold access, relocation and dimming affect the estimate. A chandelier placed at an existing suitable connection differs from moving the connection or adding structural support.

Your written estimate should identify the equipment, electrical work, access, permits and any separate trades or finish restoration. Ask about anything you do not see included.

Local planning—not a one-size-fits-all job.

From a Bellevue dining-room update to a Seattle stairwell or a Lynnwood entry, access is often the deciding factor. Planning around occupied rooms and finished surfaces helps the electrical visit fit into the broader decorating or remodeling project.

Most electrical work requires a permit and inspection through the authority responsible for the address. We obtain the electrical permit for work we perform when required. Utility-service approval is a separate step when applicable. Washington electrical permit guidance ↗

Can my current ceiling box support a chandelier?

It needs to be checked against the fixture’s weight and mounting requirements. We do not assume that a box used for a lighter fixture is adequate.

Can you install a chandelier over stairs or in a tall entry?

Share photos, ceiling height and fixture details first. We confirm the appropriate access plan and equipment before scheduling.

Will my existing dimmer work?

That depends on the chandelier’s lamps or integrated driver and the dimmer. We review product compatibility and include a control change when needed.

Financing depends on lender approval. Wisetack publishes amounts of $500–$65,000, APRs of 0%–35.9%, and terms of 3–120 months for home services. Your amount, APR and term depend on the transaction, creditworthiness, merchant and lending partner; state rate limits may apply. Some merchants and lenders do not offer 0% APR or extended terms. Wisetack reports no origination charges, late fees or early-payoff penalties. Review the lender’s actual payment schedule and agreement before accepting financing. This worksheet adds no financing fees and makes no approval decision. Wisetack’s current FAQs (opens in a new tab)

Calculation and rounding details

Monthly payments are rounded to cents. The total uses the unrounded payment formula; the final payment is adjusted so the displayed payments add up. Actual lender calculations and payment dates may differ.

This models equal monthly periods at a fixed APR without added financing fees. Compare the lender’s actual schedule before making a decision. Your entries stay in this calculator; it does not save them or send them with a service request.
