The right work. A clear plan.

Home Data Wiring Installation: what to expect.

A wired connection can support a dependable home network, but cabling is only part of the system. Your internet plan, modem, router, network equipment and device capabilities still matter. We define the physical wiring scope without promising a universal speed improvement.

Plan the destinations before routing cable: an office desk, media center, access-point location or central equipment area may all need connections. The cable specification, termination points and testing expectations should be agreed before the work begins.

Make the next step a good one.

Plan useful connection points

Identify the rooms and equipment that need cabling. Consider furniture placement, expansion and a practical central termination location.

Review cable paths

Assess attic, crawlspace and finished-wall routes, with appropriate separation and installation practices. Concealed access limitations are discussed in advance.

Clarify termination and testing

Define outlets, terminations, labeling and the agreed test scope. Router configuration, managed-network setup and provider service changes are separate unless included.

Before the appointment

Bring a simple floor plan and a list of devices or locations. Clarify whether you need cable installation only or help from an IT provider with network design and configuration. It is easier to coordinate cabling before a remodeling project closes its walls.

Clear expectations. Better decisions.

What affects the price?

Cable-run count, route length, access, terminations and testing scope drive the estimate. Finished-wall openings, patching, network equipment and IT configuration should be clearly separated so you can compare the full project cost.

Your written estimate should identify the equipment, electrical work, access, permits and any separate trades or finish restoration. Ask about anything you do not see included.

Local planning—not a one-size-fits-all job.

A Seattle home office, a Lynnwood remodel and a Bothell media room may have very different access routes. We plan around the actual building and your intended devices rather than promising that a particular cable category will solve every connectivity issue.

Most electrical work requires a permit and inspection through the authority responsible for the address. We obtain the electrical permit for work we perform when required. Utility-service approval is a separate step when applicable. Washington electrical permit guidance ↗

Will new data cable make my internet faster?

Not necessarily. The internet service, router, device and network design can each limit performance. New cabling addresses the physical connection, not every possible source of slow service.

Can you add data outlets to finished rooms?

Often, subject to routing and access. We assess available paths and explain where finish openings may be required.

Do you configure the router and Wi-Fi system?

Confirm that scope before booking. Physical cabling and IT configuration are different services; equipment setup may need a separate network specialist.

Keep the plan connected.
