Enjoy the light you need through our darker evenings

When you spend more time indoors during Northwest fall and winter, an uncomfortable lighting setup becomes hard to ignore. You may want bright task lighting at the table and a softer level later. Tell us which settings work poorly and what you would like the room to do better.

Live Wire checks whether the issue is a lamp, fixture driver, control setting, dimmer or wiring arrangement. A new bulb can change how an existing dimmer behaves. We help you understand the combination so you can avoid buying several replacements that never feel right.

Keep a simple wall control or plan a smart upgrade

DVCL-153P is a conventional Diva LED+ dimmer with a paddle and slider. It is not the same as Diva smart controls with DVRF model references. If you like a straightforward wall control, we can focus on restoring that experience.

If your goal is schedules or remote control, tell us before the repair is planned. We can discuss a supported smart-lighting option as a separate upgrade, including what equipment it needs. You should know whether you are repairing the original control or changing how the room operates.

We match the light source to the way it dims

An LED label does not mean a lamp is dimmable, and a dimmable lamp is not automatically a match for every control. Integrated fixtures add their own driver requirements. We check the actual bulb or fixture model and the number of lamps on the dimmer.

Lutron publishes different load ratings and compatibility information for these applications. Low-end adjustment can help within a supported combination, but it cannot make an unsuitable lamp compatible. We explain the reasonable dimming range for your lighting rather than promise every LED will behave the same way.

Make the lights work from both ends of the room

DVCL-153P supports single-pole use or a supported three-way arrangement with a mechanical switch. If the lights work differently depending on which doorway you use, the other control belongs in the investigation too.

We identify the switch arrangement and check any recent control changes. Adding another dimmer because there are two wall locations is not automatically a suitable setup. Our repair plan explains which device or wiring change will make the lighting operate consistently from the intended locations.

Get a clear plan for a brighter, more comfortable home

Share lamp packaging or fixture information if you have it, along with whether the trouble began after a bulb change. There is no need to open a wall box. If a control shows damage, arcing or a burning smell, stop using it and call for help.

We explain the proposed repair, any lamp or fixture changes and the price before you approve work. Contact our Lynnwood-based crew to talk about your Diva dimmer and the lighting you want to enjoy every day.

Common questions

Why did my Diva dimmer start flickering after an LED change?

The new lamps may behave differently with the existing dimmer. We check the exact combination, settings and circuit before deciding whether the control needs replacement.

Is DVCL-153P a smart dimmer?

No. It is a conventional paddle-and-slider Diva LED+ control. We can discuss a separate smart-control upgrade if you want schedules or remote operation.

Can you improve lighting controlled from two locations?

Yes, we can assess the complete arrangement. The main dimmer and other switch need to be a supported combination for consistent operation.

Will a new dimmer make every LED dim very low?

Not necessarily. Minimum brightness and smoothness depend on the lamp or fixture and control together. We help select a suitable combination and explain what to expect.
