Keep your Guardian 7043 ready for the way you live

If your Guardian 7043 has stopped transferring power, leaves an expected circuit dark or no longer fits your household, Live Wire Electric can help you understand the electrical work it needs. We start with what you have noticed and what you want your backup system to do.

Our licensed electricians handle installation and electrical service with a clear explanation of the findings. Whether you are caring for an existing 22 kW Guardian or weighing a replacement, we help you make a decision that fits your home.

Our focus
Understand the fault and the work your home needs

We start with the problem you are experiencing

You may know that the engine starts but the house stays dark, or that a particular appliance loses power after transfer. Those observations are valuable. We listen to the sequence, review displayed messages and check the electrical areas that fit the symptom instead of jumping straight to a replacement recommendation.

Different symptoms can involve the transfer equipment, distribution, load controls, engine or fuel system. We explain what our electrical inspection shows and identify when another type of service is needed. You do not need to keep forcing tests or remove covers to prepare for our visit.

We check the complete Guardian installation

The 7043 model identifies a Guardian 22 kW Wi-Fi package with transfer equipment; 7042 identifies the generator-only option. Your installed system may also include later changes, so we confirm the generator, transfer switch and relevant controls against what is actually at your home.

We review which circuits receive backup power and whether the labels still reflect the installation. If a previous project added a heat pump, kitchen appliance or EV charger, we look at how that change affects your expectations. A useful service visit considers the home the generator serves today.

Storm damage can also involve the house's incoming electrical equipment. Snohomish County PUD explains that a damaged customer-owned weatherhead needs a licensed electrician's repair before utility reconnection. If that is part of your situation, we separate the home-side repair needs from generator diagnosis and utility restoration, so you understand the next step without approaching damaged equipment.

Find a sensible path between repair and replacement

When a defined electrical repair can address the problem, we explain that option and its intended result. We also discuss the condition of the surrounding equipment and any unresolved service needs. The arrival of a newer generator model does not, by itself, tell you to replace a working system.

If replacement makes sense to explore, we compare the complete project. The cellular 7325 is a different generation from 7043, so we check transfer compatibility, controls, monitoring and site work. That gives you a clearer decision than comparing generator prices alone.

Make backup power easier to understand at home

It helps to know which appliances can run together and which should wait during an outage. We review your priorities against the generator's applicable fuel rating, starting loads and installed management devices. If the operating plan needs attention, we explain the changes in terms of your daily routine.

We also discuss the appropriate handoff for monitoring and service information. Keeping model details, maintenance records and useful contact information together makes future care easier. Electrical repairs and transfer checks are distinct from engine maintenance or manufacturer warranty work, and we clarify those responsibilities.

Arrange a productive visit with Live Wire

For a home in King or Snohomish County, send us the address, the approximate age of the installation and a brief description of the problem. Photos of closed equipment, accessible labels and the panel directory can help us prepare. Existing invoices or service records are useful if you have them.

We use the visit to explain findings, recommended electrical work and any next steps that depend on parts or another service provider. If you are buying equipment for a new installation, we also confirm current supply and the exact package before building the scope around it.

Common questions

The generator starts but my house stays dark. Do I need a new one?

That symptom needs diagnosis before a replacement decision. We inspect the relevant transfer and electrical arrangement and explain what we find. Engine operation alone does not establish that the rest of the backup system is working correctly.

Should I give you the 7043 number when booking?

Yes. The generator model, transfer-switch information and any safely visible messages help us prepare. A photo of an accessible label is useful; please leave electrical and generator service covers closed.

Can my existing transfer equipment stay during replacement?

We evaluate its condition and compatibility with the proposed system. Reuse may be practical, but we confirm the controls, service arrangement and required wiring before including it in the installation plan.

Does electrical service include all engine and warranty work?

We explain the scope before work begins. Transfer equipment, wiring and electrical diagnosis are different from engine maintenance, fuel repairs and manufacturer warranty service. We identify the appropriate responsibilities for your project.
