Square D QO electronic protection · Safety you can understand · Live Wire Electric

Stop guessing about your Square D QO AFCI or GFCI trips

Does the bedroom, kitchen or home office keep losing power even though the breaker looks fine? A QO breaker with a test button is watching for more than ordinary overloads. Live Wire Electric helps you understand what is happening and find a repair that keeps the right safety protection in place.

You do not need to learn breaker codes before calling. Our licensed crew serves homeowners in King and Snohomish counties, explains what we find and helps restore dependable power without treating every unexpected trip as a faulty breaker.

We help you get back to a normal household routine

An interruption during homework or a work call is frustrating, especially when you cannot see the cause. Tell us which rooms are affected, what was plugged in and whether the problem started after a remodel or new appliance. Those details help us focus our electrical diagnosis.

We check the circuit and connected equipment along with the breaker. A wiring condition or appliance problem can trigger protection that a conventional breaker would not detect. Our job is to explain the finding and the repair, so you are not left choosing between interruptions and a safety feature you do not understand.

Keep the protection your family needs

An AFCI looks for certain arcing conditions. A GFCI provides ground-fault protection. A dual-function device combines both, while the term combination AFCI does not automatically mean GFCI is included. We identify the protection on your exact circuit and explain it without making you decode the product name.

Replacing an electronic breaker with a standard QO just to stop the trips can remove required protection. We work toward reliable operation with the appropriate safety functions retained. A higher amperage is not a repair for a fault, either; the wiring and connected equipment still set important limits.

Have an older QO120PCAFI? We will check the current option

Schneider lists QO120PCAFI as discontinued and identifies QO120PAF as its replacement. That gives us a useful starting point for an older-model service request. It does not mean your installed breaker is automatically defective or that every QO panel accepts the same connection arrangement.

We check the panel labeling, full model number and neutral connection before recommending a replacement. If your circuit requires both arc-fault and ground-fault protection, QO120PAFGF belongs to that separate dual-function conversation. We will explain why the selected device fits your home rather than hand you a similar-looking part.

A repair recommendation built around what we find

Some visits lead to a breaker replacement; others uncover a connection, wiring or equipment issue. Live Wire explains the difference and the price before you approve work. If further diagnosis is needed, we tell you what is still uncertain instead of presenting a guess as a completed answer.

We also consider how an interruption affects your household. Mention refrigeration, essential equipment or a home office when you book so we can discuss access and shutdown planning. Good electrical service includes a clear conversation about what the work will involve in your occupied home.

Bring the symptoms; leave the panel checks to us

A short note about when the trip happens is useful. An indicator already visible during normal use can help too, but its meaning depends on the exact breaker. You do not need to remove a cover, follow an online light-code chart or deliberately recreate a fault.

Call our Lynnwood-based team with the room or circuit involved and any recent changes. We are ready to help you move from repeated interruptions to an understandable repair plan for a safer, more comfortable home.

Common questions

Can you help if I do not know whether my breaker is AFCI or GFCI?

Yes. Describe the problem and any information you can see without opening equipment. We identify the installed protection as part of the visit.

Does QO120PAF replace QO120PCAFI?

Schneider identifies that replacement path. We still check your panel, circuit and connection requirements before recommending it for your home.

Can you remove AFCI protection so the circuit stops tripping?

We diagnose the reason for the trips and retain the protection the circuit requires. Bypassing a needed safety feature would leave the underlying concern unresolved.

Are combination AFCI and dual function the same thing?

No. Dual-function AFCI/GFCI includes both protective functions. We explain which one your circuit needs and match the replacement accordingly.
