Let’s get to the reason your power keeps going out
Tell us which rooms lose power and what you were using when it happened. A microwave and another high-demand appliance running together tell a different story from a circuit that trips as soon as one device starts. We use those clues to focus the visit, then check the circuit and its protection.
You do not need to decide whether the breaker is bad before calling. If we find a wiring or connection problem, we will explain that repair. If the breaker has failed, we will identify a supported replacement. Our goal is to fix the cause so you are not left paying for a part that never solved the problem.
The right QO breaker helps protect the wiring behind your walls
Square D makes more than one breaker family. QO is different from bolt-on QOB and from Homeline, even though the names share a manufacturer. Our crew checks your panel’s labeling and the circuit before selecting equipment. A breaker that seems to fit is not enough.
QO120 is a standard 20-amp, single-pole example; QO115 and QO230 serve different circuit arrangements. We use the complete model and electrical requirements rather than treating these numbers as upgrade choices. Your breaker needs to protect the wiring you actually have, not simply carry a larger number.
A safety device should not be bypassed to make the problem disappear
The QO Visi-Trip indicator shows that the breaker tripped. It does not tell you why. We can interpret that information alongside the condition of the panel, connected equipment and affected circuit. Repeated resetting can leave the underlying problem unresolved.
If your existing circuit uses arc-fault or ground-fault protection, we check those requirements too. Replacing that device with a standard breaker can remove a needed safety function. We will talk you through the practical repair while keeping the required protection in place. For smoke, arcing or immediate danger, leave the area and call emergency services.
Know whether you need a small repair or a bigger change
One tripping circuit does not automatically mean you need a new panel. When the problem is a failed breaker and the surrounding equipment is sound, a focused repair may be the right answer. Damage at a panel connection or wiring that no longer meets the household’s needs can call for additional work.
Live Wire explains what we found, the options and the price before you approve the work. If a dedicated circuit would better support a kitchen appliance, workshop or home office, we can include that option without making you guess which project to request.
Call Live Wire with what you are noticing
Make a short note of the rooms affected, the appliances in use and any recent changes. A photo of labels already visible during normal use can help, but leave the panel cover in place. We handle the internal checks.
Let us know if refrigeration, medical equipment or working from home makes a planned interruption especially important. Our friendly crew will help you understand the next step and arrange the electrical work around the needs you share with us.

Request ServiceCommon questions
Does a QO breaker that keeps tripping always need replacement?
No. It may be doing its job because a load or wiring problem is present. We check the circuit before recommending a part, then explain what will address the interruption.
Can Live Wire help if I only know that some rooms lost power?
Yes. Tell us what stopped working and what you noticed beforehand. You do not need the breaker model or a diagnosis to request electrical repair.
Would a larger breaker stop the trips?
A larger rating does not upgrade the wiring or make an overloaded circuit safe. We can assess whether your household needs a repair, a dedicated circuit or another properly designed change.
Can a QOB or Homeline breaker replace a QO?
Those are different equipment families. We match the replacement to the exact panel and required protection so you do not have to navigate compatibility on your own.
