SPAN MAIN installation · Live Wire Electric

SPAN MAIN installation for a smarter, more useful home

Your home may be ready for an EV charger, a heat pump or a better way to manage power during an outage. Live Wire Electric helps you bring those plans together with a SPAN MAIN smart panel assessment. Our licensed electricians look at how you use electricity today and what you want your home to do next.

We help homeowners across King and Snohomish counties choose a practical panel layout, understand the work involved and decide which smart features are useful. You bring the goals; we work through the electrical details with you.

Panel work, EV charging and compatible backup equipment

Start with the changes you want at home

Perhaps charging the car means sharing limited garage power, or a remodel has left you wondering whether the existing panel has room for more. We begin with those concerns. We review your circuits, major appliances and planned additions, then explain whether the project calls for a new panel, service changes or another approach.

A smart panel can give you useful control over supported circuits. We also explain its boundaries: managing demand does not increase your utility service rating, and the panel itself does not store backup energy. That helps you choose the right work for the problem you want solved.

Choose the MAIN model that fits your plans

MAIN 16, MAIN 32 and MAIN 40 give us different layouts to consider. We build the choice around your circuit list, available wall space and future needs. We identify which loads will be monitored or controlled and which, if any, will remain in another panel.

We also check how power enters your home. MAIN has a main-breaker arrangement; SPAN MLO is designed for downstream distribution with upstream protection. If you already have SPAN equipment, we review the exact models together. MAIN 32 has different multi-panel compatibility from the MAIN 16/40 and MLO 24/48 family.

Bring charging and outage priorities into the same conversation

Tell us what matters during a winter outage: refrigeration, heating controls, a home office or other essential equipment. We help turn that list into clear priorities and review the battery, transfer equipment and communications needed for a supported backup design. You will know which features depend on additional equipment and how your normal household routine changes when backup power is in use.

For EV charging, we check the proposed charger and supported management arrangement. Planning these pieces together helps you understand the options before equipment is purchased. We confirm any specialist commissioning responsibilities as part of the installation plan.

Know what happens during your panel project

We inspect the existing electrical arrangement, circuit condition, working space and grounding and bonding needs. We identify any meter or utility work and discuss access to the panel. If power needs to be interrupted, we talk through the timing with you and account for equipment you rely on at home.

The estimate explains the selected panel, circuit transfers, protective devices and electrical corrections. Routing, enclosure location, utility coordination and repairs to surrounding finishes can affect the price. We make those decisions visible so you can understand what the project includes.

Feel comfortable using your new setup

A useful installation includes more than equipment on the wall. We plan for clear circuit labels, account access, documentation and the agreed commissioning and orientation. We want you to understand the everyday controls and know whom to contact when your needs change.

To get started with Live Wire, send photos of the closed panel and surrounding wall, along with your appliance plans and any solar or battery records. Leave the cover in place. We will help you work out the next step and a scope that suits your home.

Common questions

Will a SPAN MAIN panel give my home more electrical capacity?

We check that separately. Smart control can help manage supported loads, while your service and supply retain their own ratings. We explain whether panel replacement, supported load management or a service upgrade addresses your needs.

How do you help me choose between MAIN 16, 32 and 40?

We compare your circuit layout, space, future additions and other energy equipment. The largest model is not automatically the most useful choice; we help you select a supported arrangement with room for the plans that matter to you.

Can we include my existing battery in the project?

We can review it with you. Share the battery, inverter and transfer-equipment details so we can check supported compatibility and explain any changes or specialist commissioning needed before agreeing to the combined installation.

What should I have ready for the first conversation?

Your main goals are enough to begin. Photos of closed equipment, a list of planned appliances and existing installation records help us prepare. We handle the internal electrical inspection and walk you through the options.
