Two cars. A charging plan that works together. · Live Wire Electric

Tesla Group Power Management for homes with multiple EVs

Adding a second EV should not mean a daily negotiation over who gets the charger. Live Wire Electric plans Tesla Group Power Management installations that give compatible vehicles convenient charging locations while sharing a designed electrical allocation.

Our licensed electricians look at both drivers' routines, the parking layout and your home's available capacity. We explain how the supported Gen 3 Wall Connectors share power, so you can choose a setup that works for the household rather than just adding another box to the wall.

Our design goal
Convenient parking and useful charging time for each driver

We plan around both morning departures

One vehicle may return early and sit overnight; the other may arrive late and leave before sunrise. We ask about those patterns and typical driving needs before deciding how the chargers should share capacity. The vehicles' individual AC charging limits also shape the result.

This makes the conversation more useful than asking whether both cars can always charge at maximum rate. We explain what the shared allocation means during overlapping sessions and how much parking time each vehicle has. If your routine needs a different approach, we can discuss it before installation.

Put each charger where it is easy to use

We review the normal parking positions and charge-port locations together. Garage doors, stored items and the path into the house can all affect a useful mounting spot. The goal is for each driver to plug in without moving the other vehicle unnecessarily or stretching a cable across a busy walkway.

For outdoor spaces, we consider equipment exposure, cable storage and wet-weather access as part of the supported installation. We also review wiring routes and access for the work. A practical layout should be comfortable to use after the novelty of a second EV has worn off.

We explain what shared capacity can do

Group Power Management distributes the designed charging allocation among compatible Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connectors. We establish the electrical limit and confirm the supported equipment and group setup. Sharing makes that allocation available to multiple charging locations; it does not create additional service capacity.

When another car starts charging, the rate at an existing session may change. We explain that behavior and the expected priorities for your setup. You should understand why the system responds, rather than interpret every change in the app as a fault.

Check existing equipment before expanding

If you already own a Wall Connector, we identify its generation, model and installed circuit. We check supported compatibility before including it in the group and explain any work needed for the new arrangement. Tesla group sharing does not automatically include another manufacturer's charger.

We also keep group sharing distinct from single-charger Dynamic Power Management. The current supported configurations guide the design; we do not assume that adding a meter makes every combination work. Solar, backup equipment and future charging plans are useful details to share during the visit.

We set up the group and hand it over clearly

The scope includes the chargers, wiring routes, mounting, distribution work where needed and supported configuration. We verify the group behavior and demonstrate charging with the intended vehicles where practical. We also explain normal changes, account responsibilities and when an unexpected behavior needs attention.

For a King or Snohomish County installation, send Live Wire your address, vehicle details and photos of the closed panel and parking area. We will compare the useful options, explain the cost drivers and help you choose a charging arrangement that makes your household's mornings easier.

Common questions

Will both vehicles charge at full speed together?

That depends on the designed allocation and each vehicle. Group sharing can reduce an individual rate when sessions overlap. We explain the expected behavior and compare it with both drivers' parking time and daily needs.

Can I include a charger from another brand?

Tesla Group Power Management uses supported Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connectors. We check the exact models and current compatibility. Another-brand charger should not be assumed to join or share in that group.

Can my existing Tesla charger join the group?

We identify the generation and inspect the installed circuit and configuration. If it is supported, we explain the changes needed to include it. Older or incompatible equipment may require another approach.

Is group sharing the same as dynamic management?

They address different needs. Group sharing divides an allocation among chargers; Tesla Dynamic Power Management uses approved metering for a supported single-charger design. We review the correct option for your home.
