Classic

Emporia Classic EV Charger

A connected home-charging alternative in the Emporia lineup. PowerSmart use with a Classic requires the supported energy monitor and the appropriate software configuration; it is not automatic simply because the charger is installed.

More to consider.

Hardwired or plug-in

For the Pro offering, Emporia describes up to 48A hardwired or 40A on a suitable plug-in configuration. The installation still starts with a load review.

Vue energy monitoring

The monitor supplies the information used by compatible energy-management features. Its installation and communications belong in the project scope.

Classic-to-PowerSmart review

Existing Classic owners can ask us to review monitor compatibility and the requirements for enabling supported load management.

The Live Wire part.

Good equipment.
Great attention to detail.

Your Emporia project needs more than a product in a box. Here is how we bring the electrical work into focus.

Evaluate the capacity problem

We review your service and existing loads before deciding whether a managed charging design is an appropriate option.

Plan the charger and monitor together

Panel access, current-sensor installation, circuit routing and network connectivity all matter to this system, not just the wall-mounted charger.

Verify the operating setup

The installation plan includes the agreed current limits and supported management configuration. We explain how the system is intended to behave as other household loads change.

A few good questions.

things up.

Will Emporia let me avoid a service upgrade?

It may be an option worth comparing, but that decision follows a load and compatibility review. Load management is a designed electrical solution, not a universal substitute for an upgrade.

What is the difference between Classic and Pro?

Pro includes Emporia’s Vue 3 / PowerSmart package. A Classic needs the appropriate monitor and software setup for supported PowerSmart use. The physical charger design also differs.

Does the network connection matter?

Yes. Emporia’s connected monitoring and PowerSmart setup have communications requirements. We review these as part of the installation rather than treating Wi-Fi as an afterthought.

Good choices deserve a clear comparison.
