PowerShift charger + V2H Enablement Kit

GM Energy V2H Bundle

The bundle combines the PowerShift charger with the equipment needed for GM’s supported vehicle-to-home arrangement. We start by checking the vehicle and the home, then design the intended backup coverage.

V2H Enablement Kit

This is the home-side equipment used with PowerShift and an eligible vehicle. The dark-start battery helps initiate the system; it is not a standalone whole-home storage battery.

More to consider.

PowerShift charging

PowerShift supports up to 19.2 kW / 80A AC charging for vehicles and installations that can accept it. That charging specification should not be read as the V2H backup output.

Essential-circuit backup

A focused circuit plan can prioritize the refrigerator, furnace controls, internet, lighting and selected outlets. We check the actual loads and intended operating combinations.

Broader home backup

A larger scope may need different equipment, service work or load priorities. We compare what the supported system can supply with your goals before promising coverage.

The Live Wire part.

Good equipment.
Great attention to detail.

Your GM Energy V2H project needs more than a product in a box. Here is how we bring the electrical work into focus.

Confirm the vehicle first

Share your vehicle’s make, model and year. We review GM’s current eligibility and the required hardware and software before moving into a system proposal.

Choose what the house needs

We build a backup-circuit shortlist with you and review the panel, service and proposed equipment locations. Existing solar or battery systems need a separate compatibility review.

Plan a complete handoff

Your scope should identify the electrical installation, required coordination and system commissioning. We explain the supported operating arrangement, not just where the boxes mount.

A few good questions.

Let’s clear
things up.

Have a project-specific question?

Will this work with every GM electric vehicle?

No. Eligibility depends on the specific vehicle and GM’s supported configuration. We confirm the model, year and current requirements before proposing V2H.

Can I use a regular Level 2 charger instead of PowerShift?

Not for the GM Energy V2H arrangement described here. It requires the supported PowerShift charger, enablement equipment and eligible vehicle.

How long can it run my home?

Runtime depends on vehicle battery energy, starting charge, reserve settings and the loads being used. We discuss the loads you actually need instead of quoting a universal number of backup days.

Can it work with my existing solar or Enphase system?

That needs an equipment-specific design review. Share the inverter, battery and transfer equipment details; we do not assume two backup systems can be connected together without a supported design.

Good choices deserve a clear comparison.
