Put your backup questions in capable hands · Live Wire Electric
Explore whether Tesla Powershare can support your home
Could your Tesla help keep the refrigerator, selected lights and other priority loads working during an outage? Live Wire Electric helps you explore that question with a Powershare eligibility and electrical assessment shaped around your home.
We explain the possible system path and the practical choices before you commit to equipment. This service is assessment-only: we must confirm the eligible vehicle, supported hardware, supply and required manufacturer training and commissioning access before offering a Powershare installation.

We start with the home life you want to protect
Think about the appliances and routines that would make an outage manageable: food storage, lighting, heating controls or the equipment you use to work. We review those loads and discuss how much vehicle charge you would want to retain for driving. The right balance depends on your household.
Your vehicle also needs to be home and available for the supported backup arrangement to help. We talk through commuting, travel and parking habits so the idea fits real life. We can include power for home networking equipment in the discussion, while explaining that it cannot restore an internet provider's disrupted service.
Find the supported path for your Tesla
Tesla's current guidance separates a Powerwall-based arrangement from the standalone Powershare Gateway arrangement. Eligible Model 3 and Model Y vehicles follow the supported Powerwall path; an eligible Cybertruck can use the standalone Gateway design with Universal Wall Connector. We check the current documents against your exact situation.
That distinction helps prevent buying the wrong home equipment. We review the vehicle information, existing Powerwall model and charging setup before suggesting a direction. A familiar model name or connector shape alone does not confirm the vehicle hardware, software or home configuration required for Powershare.
Plan for local outages without guessing their duration
PSE identifies fall and winter wind and snow storms as common causes of region-wide outages in the Pacific Northwest. Your backup plan still needs to reflect your own loads and available energy rather than assume a particular restoration time.
We help you compare a focused essential-load plan with broader coverage and explain how those choices affect the vehicle energy available. Reserve settings, the vehicle's state of charge and transportation needs all belong in that conversation. A useful plan makes those choices visible before the next outage, without promising a fixed number of hours.
We review how the home connects to the system
Our electrical assessment looks at the service arrangement, the intended backup loads and any solar, generator or battery equipment already present. A supported design must isolate the home appropriately from the utility and account for how the equipment interacts. We identify the relevant requirements for your actual King or Snohomish County address.
We also consider the vehicle's parking location, cable route, communications and space for the required equipment. These practical details can affect feasibility and cost. We explain the findings in terms of the work your home would need rather than leave you with an unexplained list of components.
Get clarity before making an installation commitment
Powershare requires a confirmed route for equipment supply, manufacturer setup, commissioning and continuing support. We check those responsibilities, including any required training, tools or partner involvement, before offering installation. This page does not claim Tesla certification or authorization to activate a system.
Contact Live Wire with your vehicle details, address and information about existing charging, solar and battery equipment. We can help you understand the electrical options and what still needs verification. You can then decide whether to pursue a confirmed Powershare project or another backup approach that better fits your household.

Talk With Our CrewCommon questions
Can every Model 3 or Model Y use Powershare?
No. We check the individual vehicle through the current Tesla eligibility process, including the required hardware and software. The model name or purchase of a Wall Connector alone is not enough to establish support.
Can my Model 3 use the standalone Cybertruck arrangement?
Tesla describes different supported system paths. We follow the current vehicle and Powerwall guidance for your exact equipment rather than applying the standalone Cybertruck Gateway design to another model.
Will installing Universal Wall Connector turn on home backup?
No. It is only one possible component in a supported arrangement. The eligible vehicle, home-side equipment, electrical design and manufacturer commissioning requirements must all be satisfied.
Can Live Wire schedule Powershare commissioning now?
Our offer here is an assessment. We must confirm equipment supply, eligibility, training and commissioning access, and applicable utility requirements before making an installation or commissioning commitment.
